Feeding a Community: RE/MAX Team Gives Away Free Thanksgiving Meal Kits

The DeMarco Real Estate Group helps others celebrate Thanksgiving with the distribution of more than 130 turkeys.

It is officially the season of giving! And The DeMarco Real Estate Group is in the spirit.

The high-producing commercial real estate team with RE/MAX 5 Star Realty in Hollywood, Florida, is working with their community to provide Thanksgiving meal kits for families, many of whom are in need. John DeMarco, President of The DeMarco Real Estate group, is ecstatic to be working with his teammates on this annual tradition of helping others celebrate the holidays.

The DeMarco Real Estate Group was inspired to begin this program as a way to give back to everyone in their community, not just those who use their real estate services.

“It’s nice to see everyone come together to give back,” DeMarco says. “If we can help take a little bit of the burden of the holiday season away and just make even one family have an easier holiday, that’s what it’s all about.”

To make this event happen, the entire DeMarco Real Estate Group works together to successfully plan and execute the giving away of more than 130 turkeys and meal kits. Each kit includes a whole turkey, canned goods, a pie and a $50 Publix grocery store gift card. The meal kits are available to the community on a first-come-first-serve basis. There are no requirements to receive the kit – anyone who is interested is eligible.

Not only do the team members volunteer their weekends to help prepare these meals, but a group of local suppliers also works with them in order to provide fresh and tasty food to the community.

“We’d like to continue to grow this. If it’s something that there is definitely a need for, we’ll continue doing this annually and keep expanding,” DeMarco says.

DeMarco encourages other real estate teams to reach out and give back to their community.

“We’re in the service-based industry, and that means helping others and being selfless at times,” he says. “If you go above and beyond for people, it pays off.”
